Santa Monica

If you have never been to the Santa Monica Pier, I would strongly advise you to do so! Although Santa Monica lacks a bit of the plantation traits, it possesses other interesting aspects. The beach is highly known for it’s iconic pier.  The pier is a location that many individuals attend when they seek entertainment, especially during the night time. The reason for it’s large population is due to it’s small amusement park, arcade, clothing stores, and restaurants.

When arriving the destination, individuals are instantly greeted by a sign at the entrance. Before getting to all the attractions, everyone walks for approximately 5 minutes across, what seems to be, a bridge. Individuals take advantage of this time to appreciate the scenery of the beach by looking at the edge of the bridge.  During the summer, there are are various people are showering themselves with sun. Others are found surfing or swimming. The sand is covered by many umbrellas and seems beautifully decorated.

The pedestrians eventually reach the pier. Concrete flooring transitions into a wooden one. There are small shops selling accessories made from beach elements such as sea shells. On opposite sides of the shops, there are restaurants that specialize in sea food. Even further into the peer, there is an arcade. In front of the arcade, individuals with various talents portray their abilities. Some people sing, others draw, and some even dance.

Further into the pier, people finally reach what they mostly likely sought for: the amusement park known as Pacific Park. The park is considered iconic for it’s Ferris wheel and sea view combination. However, there are other rides such as a swaying mechanic that looks like a dragon, a roller coaster that covers most of the park’s length, and rides specifically for kids. In addition, there are many carnival games available.

During the night time, the park is vibrant. There are many colors from the lights that pertain to the stores, rides, and food places. It is definitely a place worth going to for a pleasant, new and fun experience.

I haven’t been to that park in awhile. It is still a really fun afternoon when you get a day not too crowded with people. Being there kind of makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time. Just wholesome fun like when you were a kid.
